RIA Novosti reports that Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Gruzdev said that the Russian side at the conference of WTO member countries will propose gradually to reduce the state support of agricultural producers in order to equalize the competition in the world market.

Gruzdev said: "We say that the overall level of state support for the agro-industrial complex should decrease in general, but each has its own volumes, so the most important trend should be to consistently reduce the amount of such support.

We oppose the preservation of these mechanisms (special measures of support by the state), we consider them to be distorting the structure of trade ".

The Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia also stressed that there are a number of countries whose volumes of domestic support for agriculture are much higher than in Russia.

However, last year, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the state support of the agrarian-industrial complex in 2017 will continue in current volumes.
