More than 300 thousand Russians have suffered from tick bites since the beginning of the year

Rospotrebnadzor reports that more than 300 thousand Russians have suffered from tick bites since the beginning of this year.

The ministry's message says: "As of June 23, 2017, 306 565 people applied to medical organizations for sucking ticks, which corresponds to the average annual levels".

It is noted that for the year 285 cases of tick-borne virus encephalitis and 959 cases of tick-borne ixorid borreliosis. This year, the number of sick Russians is lower than in the past.

As previously reported, a resident of the Astrakhan region died after a tick bite. He died from Crimean hemorrhagic fever, which was the first since 2010.
