RIA Novosti reports that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that Russia will continue to develop anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense systems that will support the strategic balance and overall security in the world.

Dmitry Rogozin called the US actions a pure provocation, commenting on reports on the modernization of the US missile defense system in northern Greenland.

He stressed: "There is a strategic balance that at the moment gives an accurate guarantee that any aggressor, if he attacks Russia, no matter where, from the Pacific or the Atlantic, will be physically destroyed immediately".

The Vice-Premier said that Russia is investing heavily in the creation of space and ground echelons of anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense. He noted that in two or three years Russia will see any launches of hostile ballistic and cruise missiles. He particularly stressed the fact that Russia "does it on its territory" Rogozin suggested that the installation of Russian systems in Cuba, in Nicaragua or Serbia would cause an acute US protest, despite US missile defenses in Poland, Romania, Greenland.
