RIA Novosti reports that German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said that if the United States gave Russia and China the freedom to dominate their spheres of influence, this would be the end of the liberal world order.

He doubted that Washington really believes that the world order will be just as stable if China and Russia are allowed to take a place somewhere in the United States.

Reuters quoted Schaeuble as saying: "This would be the end of our liberal world order. This order is still the best of all possible worlds for ethical, political and economic reasons. And we want this order to continue. At least, we do not want to see how it weakens ".

Germany's finance minister also said that Europe should take greater responsibility to protect the liberal and democratic world order, since the United States is less willing to deal with this issue.

The German minister said: "We must improve our cooperation, we must rely on our mutual trust".

He added that one must adhere to one's values.

Schauble expressed the opinion that the main problems in the world, such as climate change, international terrorism and migration, can be resolved with close cooperation of countries. The head of the German Ministry of Finance said: "If the United States begins to doubt its role as the custodian of the world order, and we have already seen hints of it in recent years, I would regard it as a call for action aimed at Europe, including Germany".
