The American media portal BuzzFeed informs, referring to a high-ranking source in the foreign policy department, that the plan for establishing relations with Russia prepared by the US State Department contains three points concerning cooperation with Moscow.

According to the Internet publication, three items include the following: the proposal to avoid actions directed against US interests; Cooperation on problematic issues of international politics, such as the situation in the DPRK and the crisis in Syria, as well as in the field of countering cyber espionage; Establishment of strategic stable relations with Russia.

It is noted that the last point is very multivalued.

An employee of the Brookings Institution, former US ambassador to Ukraine Stephen Pifer explained: "The US is looking for convergence opportunities".

BuzzFedd notes at the same time that Tillerson's strategy does not imply an increase in aid to neighboring countries with the aim of increasing their security against the hypothetical invasion of Moscow. As it became known earlier, last week Republicans in the US Senate subjected Tillerson to criticism when he proposed to reduce aid from the US budget to a number of countries bordering on the Russian Federation. In particular, it was proposed to reduce by 66 percent the financial support to Georgia.
