Ankara Governor Ercan Topadzha said on Monday, May 22 that two militants of the IG terrorist group that were liquidated the day before in the Turkish capital, were preparing a terrorist act at the congress of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Turkey, Izvestia reports..

TV channel NTV quotes the governor: "Two IG fighters, destroyed yesterday, planned an attack on the AKP congress".

It is clarified that it was possible to reach the terrorists thanks to the tip of the militant detained earlier in Istanbul who confessed to the preparation of the terrorist act and named the address in Ankara, where two of his accomplices lived. It is noted that during the arrival of the police, the suspects resisted by opening fire. A shootout ensued, during which alleged terrorists were killed. During the search, grenades, weapons and homemade bombs were found in their apartment.
