Izvestia reports that the rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Abkhazia rescued tourists from Moscow and Perm, who were stuck in a canyon in the Gagra district.

The press service of the Ministry of Emergencies reported that tourists could not get out of the canyon independently due to a sharp rise in the water level.

The press service of the Emergencies Ministry said: "The sharp rise in water level did not allow the river to wade, two managed to get out on the coastal rock and go for help, and five had to wait for help in the boiling water, grabbing the log".

Rescue operation began on the night of May 10 and passed before dawn.
