RIA Novosti reports that Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that it is absolutely unacceptable for the country to join NATO.
He explained that there are four things that can never be the subject of negotiations.
Dodon said: "This is our statehood, the preservation of Moldova, not the union with some countries. Second, this is our neutrality, NATO is categorically unacceptable. The third fundamental point is our Orthodoxy. The European values, which we are trying to impose on us in different ways, we do not need it. And the fourth, this is our strategic partnership with our friends from Russia ".
Dodon previously condemned the decision of the Moldovan parliament on combining Victory Day and Europe Day.
As previously reported, at the end of February this year the Moldovan president called on the government to abandon the idea of ??opening a NATO office in Chisinau. He stressed that Moldova is a neutral state. Dodon also noted that the opening of the alliance's office will be "a challenge for the Moldovan society".
In an interview with RT, Dodon said that he plans to cancel the agreement on opening a bureau for relations with NATO in Moldova.
