On the first day of OFZ sale, Russians applied for 1.6 billion rubles

Portal runews24. Ru reports that representatives of VTB 24 and Sberbank reported that for the first day of selling "people's bonds" there were applications for the amount of 1.6 billion rubles.

From the information in the press release of financial institutions it follows that a large number of applications filed by residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Leningrad region.

According to VTB 24, April 26 received almost 500 applications for the purchase of federal loan bonds. The total amount is 700 million rubles. Among those wishing to purchase government securities, 70% were men and 30% women.

Sberbank also reported that by the end of Wednesday the number of applications filed amounted to about 1,000 in the amount of 912 million rubles.



As it became known earlier, the "people's bonds" of the Ministry of Finance of the first issue were purchased by the head of Sberbank German Gref.

Recall, the beginning of the placement of OFZ for the population since April 26, the Ministry of Finance of Russia announced on April 25. Sberbank and VTB 24 were named agent banks. The first issue of OFZ is designed for three years, its nominal volume will amount to 15 billion rubles, that is, 15 million bonds at 1 thousand rubles per share.
