Valentina Kazakova, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Migration, said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is checking whether Abror Azimov, who is suspected of organizing a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg, is legally legally acquainted with Russian citizenship.

Kyrgyz media reported earlier that Abror Azimov moved to Ukraine in 2009, and in 2013 - to Russia and obtained citizenship. His father is a Russian citizen, and his mother is a citizen of Kyrgyzstan.

As reported, Azimov was detained on April 17 during a special operation of the FSB in Odintsovo district near Moscow. According to the intelligence service, it was he who "trained the suicide bomber Akbarzhon Dzhalilov," who on April 3 launched an explosive device in the car of the St. Petersburg metro.

Akbarjon Jalilov was also a native of Kyrgyzstan, who received Russian citizenship. It is specified that the family of Jalilovs moved to Russia before his majority.

In 2011, when Akbarzhon turned 16, he received a Russian passport.

It is reported that this week the leaders of four factions submitted to the State Duma a bill that provides for the deprivation of acquired citizenship convicted of terrorism. As the deputies believe, the law will become for the Russians additional protection against terrorism and help prevent similar crimes by persons who have obtained Russian citizenship. The Federation Council has already promised to support the bill.
