Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga said that Ukraine is interested in strengthening relations with Poland. On the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, he recalled that Kyiv had repeatedly signaled that it was ready and interested in continuing them on equal, mutually beneficial and strategic terms.
“And we are doomed to such a relationship,” EP quotes Sibiga as saying.. . We need each other both for security reasons and for our common future in the European Union. Diplomatic channels remain open"
The topic of relations between Ukraine and Poland is of interest to partners, the minister added.
“The parties must continue to use the maximum diplomatic tools to bring these relations to the level, to the path that both our people deserve,” he added.

The conflict between Ukraine and Poland flared up after President Vladimir Zelensky, at the request of SOF fighters, awarded the special unit “North” the honorary name “named after the Heroes of the UPA”, and when Warsaw called for this decision to be reversed, he refused to do so. After this, the Polish leader Karol Nawrocki initiated the procedure for depriving Zelensky of the highest state award - the Order of the White Eagle. He did not wait for its completion - the Polish prime minister never signed this decision - and returned the order ahead of schedule, warning Navrotsky that raising ratings by inciting hatred towards Ukrainians is a bad story.
Representatives of the expert community are also convinced that there are electoral motives behind Poland’s decision. Warsaw, meanwhile, rejects any accusations of speculation on issues of historical memory.
