German Ambassador to Ukraine Gaiko Toms said that Germany transferred nine IRIS-T air defense systems to our state, and new installations are expected to be delivered in the near future. During an interview with Suspilny, he noted that ensuring Ukrainian air defense is a critically important task.

Today Germany is our state’s largest partner in providing air defense. At the end of 2025, the country transferred two Patriot complexes to ours, and also continues to send ammunition for various systems. But even that's not enough.

" As I already said, I also live here and understand what the situation is, I know the realities,” the diplomat notes. “But we are doing everything we can and making every effort to support Ukraine, both through direct assistance to the energy sector and through the provision of air defense assets.”.
