“The Commissioner and his team established systemic work to protect and strengthen language legislation, prevent and control violations of the language rights of Ukrainians, increase the role of the Ukrainian language in Ukraine and abroad,” the signatures said.

The statement noted that on July 8, 2025 there was a five -year cadence of the Commissioner. According to Article 50 of the Law on the State Language, the head of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Culture, as well as the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the Rights of the Human Rights, three months before this date, the government should have introduced a candidate to the government to appoint a new language ombudsman.

“We know that a strange approach to the selection and nomination of candidates is not at all an accident or negligence. Candidates for this position, who do not meet the qualification requirements with a certain law, called not to turn into tools for the implementation of the script for the weakening of an important institution and remove their candidates.
