The head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, said that Russia does not understand the feasibility of participation of European states in negotiations at the end of the war in Ukraine. He stated this at a briefing on Monday after he confirmed his participation in the upcoming negotiations with the US delegation in Saudi Arabia.

“As for the desire of European countries to participate in the negotiation process in Ukraine, you know, their desire has already been repeatedly satisfied,” Russian media quoted him.

Lavrov recalled the participation of France and Germany in the failed Minsk agreements and reminded the recent statement by the president of Finland Alexander Stubb that it was necessary to achieve a truce in Ukraine in order to strengthen it in military terms.

“That is, the philosophy of the Europeans has not gone anywhere. Therefore, I do not know what to do at the negotiation table, ”he added.
