The Verkhovna Rada registered the draft law No. 9009 " In particular, the document proposes to cancel some holidays and weekends and add new ones..

In particular, it is proposed to abolish:.

March 8 - International Women's Day;

May 1 - Labor Day;

May 9 - Victory Day over Nazism in World War II (Victory Day).

At the same time, it is proposed to establish the following holidays and weekends:.

February 25 - Ukrainian Woman's Day (Ukrainian Day) - Birthday of Lesya Ukrainka;

March 9 - Shevchenko's Day - Taras Shevchenko's birthday;

Second Sunday in May - Mother's Day.
