The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will for the second time try to deprive Yuriy Boyko of the title of Hero of Ukraine, people's deputy from the banned pro-Russian party " For this, a legislative basis is being prepared.. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmihal.

“On the website of the President of Ukraine, a petition to deprive MP Yuriy Boyko of the title of Hero of Ukraine gained 25,000. votes. The interdepartmental working group - including representatives of the Government, NACP, SBU, NABU, GPU and other bodies - came to the conclusion that due to the conflict of the current legislation, it is impossible to deprive some figures of the highest state awards today, - wrote Denis Shmihal. “Therefore, back in December, I instructed the Ministry of Justice and the First Deputy Prime Minister to work out changes to the legislation.”.

He noted that this order has been fulfilled and the Cabinet of Ministers has already approved the relevant draft law, according to which the imposition of sanctions on a person gives grounds for depriving him of state awards..



The government also instructed the working group to reconsider the issue of depriving Boyko of the title of Hero of Ukraine and submit proposals for consideration by the National Security and Defense Council simultaneously with the entry into force of the said bill..
