Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said he sees no point in European Union (EU) states having Russian ambassadors in their countries. It is reported by Verslo Zinios.

“In most cases, there is no great benefit from the ambassador, the Russian ambassador, in any European capital. Because, as we can see, this is no longer a diplomatic institution, but a propaganda institution that hides war crimes and generally promotes a genocidal agenda,” Landsbergis said during a joint press conference with colleagues from the Baltic countries and Poland..

He recalled that recently Lithuania was the only country where there was no Russian ambassador..

He was expelled from the country amid Russia's aggression against Ukraine after it became known about the atrocities of the Russian army in Bucha. Now the group of Baltic countries has done the same.

Landsbergis predicted that other countries could make such a decision after seeing what is happening in Ukraine due to the Russian invasion..

As reported, last week Estonia and Latvia announced a decision to expel Russian ambassadors from the country..

Thus, Tallinn reacted to the corresponding decision of the Kremlin, and Latvia expressed solidarity with the step of Estonia.

At a press conference, the ministers of Poland, Latvia and Estonia said that as long as Russia continues the war in Ukraine, diplomatic relations with the Kremlin have no future..

Recall, earlier Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that the only way to end the war in Ukraine is to send weapons to Ukraine, including tanks, to counter Russian attacks..
