The head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption Oleksandr Novikov, during a meeting with the ambassadors of the G7 countries and the European Union, spoke about the risk of resistance by corrupt bodies to the approval by the government of Ukraine of the draft State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025.
According to Novikov, the approval of the State Anti-Corruption Program is key to the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy of Ukraine, which will help Ukraine save up to UAH 200 billion for taxpayers annually and create conditions for overcoming corruption in the most affected areas..
“This can guarantee transparency in future recovery processes.. The program aims to further strengthen anti-corruption institutions in Ukraine, as well as to introduce EU anti-corruption standards in key areas of public life and the economy. This is another significant step towards Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO,"
He added that the signing was the adoption of the GAP before February 3, for which the Ukraine-EU Summit is scheduled..
The meeting also discussed the need to restore the declaration of public servants and the financial statements of political parties. Novikov noted that recent events in Ukrainian politics demonstrate the need to resume these processes.
“While the draft law on the resumption of electronic declarations has been awaiting consideration and adoption in the Verkhovna Rada since the fall of last year,” added the head of the NACP.

It should be noted that the meeting of the representatives of the G7 with the head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption Alexander Novikov took place on January 28. The G7 statement said that the ambassadors recalled the importance of the anti-corruption fight in Ukraine.
