The Verkhovna Rada proposes to approve a draft law, according to which drivers will be required to change their cars into winter tires from November 1 to March 31.

Thus, the draft law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Safety of Vehicles” proposes not to allow vehicles with a maximum technically permissible mass of not more than 3.5 tons, not equipped with all-season and / or winter. And vehicles over 3.5 tons must have winter tires on all wheels. It is proposed to establish administrative responsibility for driving a vehicle without seasonal tires - to fine the amount of 20 minimum tax-free incomes of citizens.

The explanatory note to the bill states that the largest number of accidents occur in late autumn and early winter.. The authors of the document refer to the rules that exist in the EU countries, where the absence of the necessary tires on the car at the agreed time of the year is a gross violation of traffic rules and is punishable by fines.
