Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar denied reports in the Western media about Ankara's alleged provision of cluster munitions to Kyiv. The diplomat said this in a comment to the Anadolu agency..

“Such statements are being prepared on purpose, in order to harm Ukrainian-Turkish relations, as well as the formation of a negative international image of Ukraine and Turkey,” Bodnar believes..

The diplomat recalled that international law prohibits the use of cluster munitions, and Ukraine complies with international standards, including during armed confrontation with Russia.

The ambassador suggested that such disinformation could be part of Russian propaganda, with Turkey and Ukraine being targets..

“I completely reject these allegations that have nothing to do with reality. This news was created as a “psychological weapon” in order to damage the image of Turkey,” Bodnar is sure.

Earlier, Foreign Policy reported on the alleged transfer of dual-use cluster munitions (Dual-Purposed Improved Conventional Munition - DPICM) to Ukraine.
