President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the situation at the ZNPP with French President Emmanuel Macron. The President spoke about this in an evening video message..

According to Zelensky, the talks with Macron lasted more than 1.5 hours and were very informative.

" First of all, about the situation at the front, about the defense support of Ukraine. I am grateful to the President and all the people of France for their unwavering desire to defend our common European values, our common Europe. Separately and in great detail, they dwelled on the situation at the ZNPP. We exchanged assessments of the results of the IAEA mission to the station,"

Zelensky said that tomorrow the IAEA mission will present the results of its visit to ZNPP. At the same time, the President noted that even after the visit of the mission, Russia does not stop shelling the station, which is why the Zaporizhzhya NPP was one step away from a radiation catastrophe..

" The shelling of the ZNPP territory means that the terrorist state does not care what the IAEA says, it does not care what the international community decides. Russia is only interested in the situation remaining the worst and for the longest time, this can be corrected only by strengthening sanctions, only by officially recognizing Russia as a terrorist state at all levels. Ukraine has a very clear, transparent and honest position, while we controlled the station, there was no threat of a radiation catastrophe. As soon as Russia came, the worst scenario imaginable immediately became possible.. This needs an international response - from the UN to every simple, normal state,"

Earlier, Energoatom reported that the situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP was not an emergency, despite the fact that there was a shutdown in the supply of electricity from the 6th power unit.

According to Energoatom, on September 5, 2022, as a result of a fire that occurred due to shelling, the 330 kV power line ZATES - Ferrosplavnaya was disconnected, that is, the last line that connected the ZNPP / ZATES node with the energy system of Ukraine. As a result, the 6th power unit was unloaded and disconnected from the network, which now feeds its own needs at ZNPP.

Earlier, power transmission lines (TL) 750 kV ZAES - Dneprovskaya, 330 kV ZATES - Kakhovskaya and 330 kV power lines ZAES - Melitopol were damaged and disconnected. The autotransformer (AD) 750/330 kV ZNPP was also damaged.
