Investigators of the Security Service collected additional evidence and reported the suspicion of new crimes to the former MP collaborator from the Party of Regions and put him on the international wanted list. According to the department, now he is not allowed to enter most civilized countries.

In June, the ex-deputy was already informed of the suspicion of collaborationism. Now he is also suspected under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:.

1 st. 161 (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their race, nationality, regional affiliation, religious beliefs, disability and other grounds);

st. 436 (war propaganda);

1 st. 436-2 (justification, recognition of lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

“He, as the so-called “expert”, on the air of the pro-Kremlin media publicly called for changing the borders of the territory of Ukraine, denied the aggression of the Russian Federation and broadcast theses about the “liberator,” the security service explained and noted that a number of examinations were conducted in court to substantiate the accusations..

Although the SBU did not give his last name, they published a photo of the former People's Deputy of the 7th convocation from the Party of Regions Igor Markov, who has been living in Russia since 2014 and is an active participant in Russian propaganda shows.

Also in March 2022, he was on the territory of the Kyiv region occupied by the Russians, where he promoted the actions of the occupiers and denied the implementation of armed aggression against Ukraine.
