The authorities of China and the Russian Federation are trying to change the existing international order created after the Second World War. This was stated by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in an interview with Thai PBS..

“Today, Russia is challenging the global legal order by using aggression against Ukraine.. Because it's not only about the terrible destruction and death in Ukraine, but also that if Russia is allowed to do what it does, it means that we will return to a world in which force has the right, in which large nations can. This is the opposite of rule-based order.. The same applies to China, as it acts with increasing aggression in the region and intensifies repression,” Blinken said..

Blinken stressed that after the end of World War II, rules based on respect for sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Charter were formed in international politics..

“These are the basic principles that we consider important because they have allowed us, albeit not without flaws, to make sure that since the Second World War there has not been a single global conflict.. And it created an environment where countries could develop, economies could develop, many could overcome poverty and could become a middle class,” he added..

Recall that earlier Blinken said that the protests in Sri Lanka may be related to the war of Russia against Ukraine, due to which the export of Ukrainian grain is blocked..

On July 9, Blinken and the Chinese Foreign Minister held a meeting and declared their readiness for dialogue.
