Very soon there will be two Victory Days in Ukraine, and someone will not have a single one, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his address recorded on Khreshchatyk in Kyiv on the occasion of the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II.
“There is nothing more dangerous than an insidious enemy, but there is nothing more poisonous than an imaginary friend. These are the words of the great Ukrainian philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda.
February 24, we realized this truth. This is not a war of two armies, this is a war of two worldviews.
Today we are waging war and will not give a single piece of our land to anyone, today we are celebrating the Day of Victory over Nazism and will not give a piece of our history to anyone. We are proud of our ancestors, together with other peoples, as part of the anti-Hitler coalition, we defeated Nazism. We won’t let this victory be annexed, we won’t let it be appropriated”.
