The Polish Seimas approved new amendments to the Law on Special Assistance for Ukrainian Refugees. According to them, the period for the payment of benefits for the provision of housing and food to Ukrainians will be extended for another 60 days..

The amended bill provides assistance for the provision of housing and food to refugees from Ukraine for up to 120 days. The amount of assistance per person is PLN 40 (about UAH 300) per day.

The law also provides for the possibility of monitoring these payments.. The government will maintain a database of applications for benefits, from where local governments can receive this information.



In order for the new norms to take effect, they must be approved by the Senate and signed by Polish President Andrzej Duda..
