David Arakhamia, head of the Ukrainian delegation at the talks with the Russian Federation and head of the Servant of the People faction in parliament, claims that the Georgian government continues to provide Russia with services to circumvent international sanctions.

“The whole of Europe declares that it will not open bank accounts for Russian citizens, and Georgian banks do it with great pleasure. Russian businessmen circumvent sanctions with the help of Georgian companies. All this is done with the knowledge of the Georgian government,” Arakhamia said in an interview with the Georgian opposition TV channel Mtavari Arkhi..

He believes that the normalization of relations between Ukraine and Georgia is possible only if the Georgian government joins the international sanctions against Russia, as well as the organization of a speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Georgian parliament, as the government did in many countries of the world. And only then will Kyiv be able to return its ambassador to Tbilisi.

Now, according to Arakhamikh, Georgia is conducting relations with Ukraine, first of all, taking into account the position of the Kremlin.

In early April, the head of the Georgian government, Irakli Garibashvili, said that Georgia would not join the sanctions against the Russian Federation, which objected to the words of Georgian President Salomi Zurabishvili that her country was joining the sanctions imposed by the collective West against Russia.

Earlier it was reported that Zelensky recalled the ambassador from Georgia in connection with the position of the Georgian government, which did not support sanctions against Russia..
