Amendments to the law on memorable dates in Lithuania were registered by a group of 16 deputies belonging to both the ruling party and the opposition. Lithuanian parliamentarians propose to mark the day of the victims of the genocide in Ukraine on May 9, reports Delfi.

The main initiator of the relevant legislative initiative was the Deputy Speaker of the Seimas Paulius Saudargas, and among the co-authors of the amendment are the names of the Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Justice.

Lithuanian officials propose May 9, along with Europe Day, to celebrate the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide in Ukraine.

" Lithuania, Ukraine and part of Europe did not have to rejoice at the victory over Nazi Germany, because one occupation was replaced by another, which also committed crimes against humanity,"

A similar decision was made by the Latvian Parliament, which declared May 9 the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the War in Ukraine.. Let us remind you that earlier it became known that infidels hope to hold a festive "
