Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin believes that Germany should have handed over the BMP Marder to Ukraine yesterday. He wrote about this on his Facebook page on Saturday, April 9.

" That's bullshit. NATO needs Ukraine's victory,"

Klimkin added that in this case, the Germans would have found an excuse why they did not impose an embargo on coal and oil..

" Do not forget to say that this delivery opens a new era: from Soviet weapons to Western ones - it is difficult to imagine better political and military support. In the end, there would be no need to answer difficult questions after the war: about unwillingness to really help,"

He also noted that the decision to supply Marders is a decision where Germany wants to be: in the past or in the future..

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Germany was ready to act as a security guarantor for Ukraine.. At the same time, Hebestrait, on his own behalf, said that he did not want to speculate on whether the role of security guarantor would include a military component.. What position on this issue Scholz, Hebestrait did not report.
