The goal of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the war arranged by him is to capture all of Ukraine, but it is unattainable, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said in an interview with The Economist.

“According to our analysis, Putin’s plan remains the same. He literally does not recognize Ukraine's right to exist.. He does not recognize Ukrainian identity. His goal is not just another strip of Ukrainian territory,” the minister says..

According to him, if the true goal of the war were only a land corridor to the Crimea and control over the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, it would not be worth the losses that Russia has suffered since the first days of the invasion (sanctions and thousands of dead Russian soldiers).

“Over the past three weeks, it has become quite clear that the goal he set for himself at the beginning is unattainable.. Ukraine will remain as it is. The only success he's had so far in terms of strategy is slowing down our development.. When the war is over, it will take us years to restore the country, positions in world markets and return to the right path,” Kuleba said..

By the way, the Bundestag believes that negotiations with Putin do not make sense, since the aggressor wants the collapse of Ukraine.
