Counterfeiting of COVID certificates or PCR tests has become a threatening phenomenon, as Mikhail Radutsky, head of the Verkhovna Rada's committee on the health of the nation, health care and health insurance, said on the air of Radio NV. In his opinion, because of this, the European Union may suspend the recognition of Ukrainian documents..

“This is a massive and threatening phenomenon... Already today, due to falsification of certificates of testing and vaccination, only the National Police have begun 732 criminal proceedings, 349 persons have been notified of suspicion, 281 cases have already been sent to court. In the last month alone, there are already 10 convictions from Ukrainian courts for these criminals. But I cannot say that this is already a full volume - there will be and there will be quite a few criminal cases, ”said Radutsky.

According to the People's Deputy, the Verkhovna Rada plans to significantly increase the responsibility for counterfeiting COVID certificates. In particular, the relevant committee has already supported the relevant bill..

“Bill 6084 amends the Criminal Code, because, unfortunately, the fines that exist today do not stop [violators]. This law reinforces responsibility. For counterfeiting, fines will be from 17 to 34 thousand hryvnia or restriction of freedom up to two years. The key is limiting freedom. If a medical professional [fills in] false information in the medical records of vaccinations, a fine of up to 68 thousand hryvnia or restriction of freedom of up to two years is stipulated. And for the production of false documents on vaccination - a fine of up to 170 thousand hryvnia or imprisonment up to three years, "

According to him, the committee also proposes to increase liability for falsifying the results of PCR tests and for advertising the sale of falsified documents..

“I am very afraid that the European Commission may suspend the recognition of Ukrainian certificates. If this happens, it will be a disaster, "
