President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on all United Nations member states to sign the Joint Declaration of the Crimean Platform participants.

“I invite you to join the Declaration of the Crimean Platform participants, condemning the occupation and showing that you are against the forceful change of borders in the world,” the head of state said during a speech at the 76th UN General Assembly in New York.

Zelensky expressed bewilderment at the fact that the UN did not join this platform, the purpose of which is to de-occupy the Ukrainian peninsula, by capturing which Russia grossly violated international law.

The first summit of the Crimean Platform took place on August 23 in Kiev.

It was attended by representatives of 46 states, NATO, EU, Council of Europe and GUAM.

Following the summit, they signed a Declaration, securing the status of the Crimean Platform as a consultation and coordination format for the de-occupation of the peninsula.. The signatories agreed on the need to increase pressure on Russia, including the sanctions.

Efforts of Russian diplomacy and special services are aimed at disrupting the summit.
