The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Mairid Maguire, accused the NATO countries of pursuing a policy aimed at the collapse of countries and the destruction of the lives of millions of people. In an article published on the Common Dreams portal, she wrote that to solve world problems, Western leaders should establish relations with Moscow. In addition, the media should stop "demonizing" Russia and "feeding" information consumers with military propaganda based on lies and misinformation. The author reminded about the times of the "cold war", when journalists constantly persuaded readers of the threat of a nuclear war coming from Russia. In her opinion, today's situation repeats the time when the West sought to "repulse an unknown evil from the East". The militaristic policies of the United States, Britain and France clearly show that these states are unable to make decisions on global world problems through dialogue, says the laureate.
In her opinion, it was she who led to the devastation and collapse of entire states and an increase in the number of migrants. To remedy the situation with Russia, it is necessary to lift sanctions and develop cooperation "with our Russian brothers and sisters," Maguire is sure. In 1976, Mairid Maguire received the Nobel Peace Prize for the creation of an anti-war Community of Peaceful People, whose activities contributed to the peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in Northern Ireland between Irish nationalists and the British authorities.
