"If the initial format of the parliamentary hearings presupposed the presence of the State Duma deputies as the main participants, then, given the large request from representatives of the civil and expert community, after consultations with representatives of political factions, it was decided to reformat them into parliamentary public hearings," the chairman of the State Duma said, noting , that at the hearings in the majority there will be no deputies. Volodin stressed the importance of comprehensive discussion of the bill before his second reading. "Deputies are now actively meeting with their constituents. The exchange of views continues with the expert community. During the parliamentary public hearings, we need to discuss different views, approaches to resolving issues and proposals, so as to end up with the adoption of a quality bill, "the speaker concluded.. At today's meeting to prepare for the hearing, the first deputy chairman of the Duma, Alexander Zhukov, representing the party of power, and Ivan Melnikov from the Communist Party. Also participating in the meeting was the liberal democrat Yaroslav Nilov, head of the profile committee for labor, social policy and veterans affairs.

Recall, on July 19, the bill on improving the pension system was approved by the State Duma in the first reading.

The second is scheduled for autumn. Until then, the initiative will be finalized taking into account the expert opinion. All the comments will take the form of amendments, the deadline for submission of which has been increased by almost a week, until September 24.
