At the same time Gridchina stressed that the peninsula has always been part of Russia. According to her, there can be no question of any occupation of the Crimea. The US authorities have not yet responded to the invitation. Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington does not recognize the Crimea as part of the Russian Federation. In addition, the Americans will not remove the sanctions imposed by the annexation of the peninsula.
