The US authorities unequivocally made it clear that they intend to impose sanctions against European countries, including Russia, and in general any state, if it continues to buy oil from Iran, despite the US ban. This was stated by the head of the US Treasury Steven Mnuchin during the hearings in the congress, RIA Novosti reported on Thursday, July 12. To the Minister, the legislators asked whether he believed that "China, with whom we are in a state of trade war, will follow us" in the issue of restrictive measures against Tehran. They reminded Mnucin that Beijing is the largest importer of Iranian oil. "I repeat, we will impose sanctions against anyone against them (China), Russia, Europe and the rest," - said the head of the Ministry of Finance. President of the United States Donald Trump on May 8 made an unexpected political sabot - he announced the withdrawal of Washington from the agreement with Tehran on the nuclear program and reported on the restoration since November 4 of this year of all sanctions against Iran, including other countries that conduct business with the Islamic republic.

Last week, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the US does not think about the consequences of its desire to reduce the export of Iranian oil to zero. The Guard Corps of the Islamic Revolution has already threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz to transport oil to other countries in the event that the export of Iranian oil products will be restrained. It should be noted that 20% of the world's black gold passes through this site. Now the main importers of Iranian oil are China, Japan, South Korea, India and the EU.
