The State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Bundestag form a large interparliamentary commission. This was reported by the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. The co-chairmen of the commission will be the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Alexander Zhukov and the vice-president of the Bundestag Thomas Oppermann. In particular, this concerns the sphere of security, the development of the digital economy, humanitarian and trade-economic interaction, and the actual regional and inter-parliamentary ties. German parliamentarians of the speaker of the State Duma supported.
"Russia and Germany have a huge potential in the development of economic ties, and this despite the fact that we are dealing with sanctions.
In particular, Nord Stream-2 is a wonderful, important economic project, and it should not be threatened by sanctions from third countries. I will be happy if there is constant cooperation between our parliaments, "Oppermann said at the meeting.. It is expected that the first meeting of the interparliamentary commission of the two countries will be held in the autumn of 2018.
