The calculations of the West did not materialize: over the past 10 years, Russia has grown stronger and has become a real threat to European countries. Such conclusions were reached by experts of the Institute for Strategic Studies of the US Army. "The most serious military threat in Europe comes from the growing strength of Russia, as indicated by a number of hostile military, economic, political and covert actions taken against the West over the past ten years and reached its climax during the invasion of Ukraine in 2014," - leads RT abstracts of the report. At the same time, NATO members are not ready to give a timely response in case of an attack from the Russian Federation, the authors of the document. In their opinion, the Joint Operational High-Level Group, which is organized in Europe just for such a case, does not have sufficient combat power. The way out experts see one thing - to increase the US military presence in the Baltic states and Poland, because it is against them that Russia "ruthlessly uses its intimidation capabilities" in the form of "subversive operations with predominantly low-risk". Moreover, it frightens already on the verge of a foul, that is, a little more and NATO members will have a reason to use the Fifth Article of the Charter, according to which all the members of the alliance can act in response to the aggression against one of them, the report says.. This "expert opinion" caused confusion in Moscow. "The fifth article of the NATO Charter presupposes the response of all members of the alliance in the event of an attack on one of them. But Russia is not going to attack anyone.

Moscow tells NATO that they are crossing all borders, moving eastward, creating bases near Russia's borders under some mythical pretexts-and this kind of policy can lead to dangerous consequences, "the military expert of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine Alexei Leonkov commented on the report. Recall that in early summer, the NATO plan to create an operational reserve of 30 thousand. a man who should help 20,000 servicemen of the Rapid Reaction Force in the case of "Russia's aggression".
