The new initiative of the Government of the Council of the State Duma will be discussed next Monday, June 18. Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the lower house, outlined the tasks that the gradual reform is called upon to solve. He noted that the draft law will be submitted to the State Duma for consideration tomorrow, June 16, after the meeting of the tripartite commission for regulating social and labor relations. According to Volodin, the reform of the pension system is long overdue. "If you do not make any decisions, then inevitably there will be an actual reduction in pensions," the Duma speaker explained, adding that it is impossible to ignore this issue. "The goal of the reform should be the implementation of the task of raising the standard of living of pensioners," the Regnum.

Volodin stressed that the document will familiarize the Legislative Assembly of all Russian regions. "We expect to hold a full discussion of the bill before its consideration in the State Duma in the first reading," explained the chairman of the lower house of parliament. On the eve, June 14, the approaching pension reform was announced by the head of the Russian Cabinet Dmitry Medvedev. The government is confident that the new bill optimizes the cost of pensions, and the savings will go to social reforms.
