The Independent preferred not to comment on media reports, according to which US President Donald Trump called the Crimea Russian. Press secretary of the country's Foreign Ministry Marian Betz called these reports gossips. "I know that the White House did not react, saying that this information is missing from them," she said, "112 Ukraine". The press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov also doubted the reliability of this information. He considered the statement fictitious journalists. "Neither you nor we were present at these closed meetings of the Group of Seven, and, of course, we can not judge the reliability of these news," he commented on the BuzzFeed News resource, alleging, with reference to a diplomatic source, that Trump told the leaders "G-7" on the Russian ownership of the peninsula.

Peskov noted that the White House did not make any official statements on this matter, and he does not want to comment on such information, as often a lot of "false news, or" fake news "is published in the media," RIA Novosti reports. Earlier BuzzFeed portal reported that the American president stated that Crimea belongs to Russia, arguing that all those who live there speak Russian, recalls IA Nation News. White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders, however, said after the release of information that she did not know anything about these words of Donald Trump.
