The new Baltic connector will be laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

The gas pipeline will be stretched from the port city of Paldiski Estonia to the municipality of Inkoo, which is located on the southern coast of Finland. This will be the first gas pipeline in the country, passing along the bottom of the sea. Its length is more than 150 km, almost 80 of which will be hidden under water. The main line will deliver up to 7.2 million cubic meters of gas per day. The completion of construction is scheduled for 2020.

It is planned that then the Finnish blue fuel will enter the market of competitors. It is specified that the project cost is 250 million euros. 75% of this amount will be paid by the EU. On the allocation of 187.5 euros for gas mains the European Commission said two years ago. It was about the company Baltic Connector Oy and the Estonian network operator Elering AS. A new pipeline is being pulled to get rid of the dependence of the Russian gas, writes Yle. Now the gas lines of Finland are connected only with Russian.
