Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev and CEO of UMMC-Holding Andrei Kozitsyn on June 5 started the work of the second stage of the copper electrolysis shop at the Uralelectromed plant in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The new production will give the region an economic and ecological effect - according to the level of equipping with equipment, working conditions and environmental safety standards, the renewed workshop corresponds to world standards, according to the information policy department of the governor.
"In 2012, we opened the first stage of the copper electrolysis shop and then it seemed that this was the height of perfection, but today, five years later, Uralelectromed doubles the output with the use of the most modern robotic technologies. This is, indeed, a big step forward. It is gratifying that the third stage of the workshop is planned, which will also allow increasing output. Only by such steps we will be able to realize the task set by the President of the Russian Federation - to make a qualitative industrial leap in the development of our region and our country, "said Evgeny Kuyvashev.
The Governor thanked Andrei Kozitsyn and the management of Uralelektromedi for their great contribution to the modernization of production, the creation of highly skilled jobs, the increase in labor productivity. The new workshop is distinguished by a high level of automation, which made it possible to organize the management of both stages of the workshop from one operator station. Here 68 workplaces are created.
"We have taken the next step towards creating a modern, high-tech production that allows us to reach a new level of safety and productivity," said Andrei Kozitsyn.
The new workshop has a capacity of 160 thousand tons of copper cathodes per year. With its launch of capacity for the production of non-basic cathodes, the enterprise will grow up to 320,000 tons per year. The amount invested in the construction of investments - 4.3 billion rubles.
In the very near future, construction of the third stage of the workshop will start, which is planned to be completed by 2022.
