The EU does not need "sandbags", which are countries that are not ready to keep pace with all. This was stated by the European commissioner on consumer justice and gender equality Vera Yurova. Speaking in Prague at the conference "Challenges for Europe, she stressed that in the future, the European Union will get rid of individual states as an extra ballast," RIA Novosti writes.. She is sure that excessive pressure on Europe and the appearance of "new threats" can provoke a tendency to "throw away" sandbags ". "They can be, for example, states that are not that do not keep their mouths shut but do not participate in cooperation, do not stick together and do not make efforts to achieve common goals," the European Commissioner emphasized.. In particular, Yurova called on the Czech Republic to participate more actively in the organization's activities. She noted that the country "may have problems" if, instead of participating in solving pan-European problems, it will be limited to "only criticism of the EU".

According to her, the Czech Republic should not identify with Hungary and Poland, who are accused of infringing the rights of their citizens. The European Commissioner believes that the organization must begin to address the main problems of our time. Among them, she called the strengthening of the external borders of the organization, internal security, as well as the strengthening of the all-European defense capacity. In addition, European politicians, according to Yurova, need to listen more to the opinion of citizens about their own activities.
