The co-chairman of the Left Party faction in the Bundestag (parliament of Germany) Sarah Wagenkneht in an interview with the Neue Osnabrucker Zeitung said that it is necessary to abolish anti-Russian sanctions and establish relations with Moscow while maintaining criticism of certain actions of the Russian authorities.

The deputy noted that anti-Russian sanctions "mostly harm German enterprises", so it is in Germany's interest "to cancel them" and in general it is necessary to put an end to the "ice age in relations with Moscow".

Vagenknecht believes that Russia should continue to be criticized for joining the Crimea and acting in Syria, but, she said, "if the criticism sounds from the lips of those who conduct the war that violate international law, this sounds very hypocritical".
