"These consultations with the chairman of the State Duma have begun, there are many names called, including Alexander Zhukov and Anatoly Aksakov," Igor Lebedev, vice speaker of the lower house of the parliament from the LDPR, told Interfax, adding that discussions continue. At the moment consultations on the candidature of the head of the chamber are conducted with representatives of parliamentary factions. Perhaps the Duma will take a final decision on the next Monday. In turn, its chairman Vyacheslav Volodin confirmed that among the candidates for the post of head of the control body are candidates Alexander Zhukov. However, as noted, he himself does not want to leave the ranks of the deputy corps. "This person should have knowledge in the state financial sphere and in the state administration, according to the parameters Zhukov is right, but he wants to work in the Duma," explained Volodin on May 10. He stressed that Zhukov is a strong candidate.

Meanwhile, the main thing is that the future head of the Accounts Chamber himself wants to occupy this post. The President of the Accounting Chamber is appointed for six years. Lawmakers offer the country leader at least three candidates for this position, and he already makes the final decision. Currently, as the chairman of the Accounting Chamber, Tatyana Golikova, however, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev invited her in the renewed Cabinet to take the place of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the social sphere.
