The thought of the Latvian city of Jurmala banned the May 9 march of the "Immortal Regiment". This was told by the RIA Novosti news agency, the organizer of the action, Janis Cousins. In its refusal, the Duma referred to an improperly filed application for a march. Earlier it was reported that the Minsk authorities also denied the organizers of the action "Immortal Regiment" in the procession, but the citizens will still go to the procession on May 9, even if not organized by a convoy.

"We decided for ourselves that people will come to the holiday with portraits, and we can not fail them, and therefore we must bring them to Victory Square, lay flowers," Sputnik Belarus told the organizer of the Minsk procession Valery Draco.

"Immortal Regiment" has been going on the streets of many countries of the world for several years already. Participants in the march carry portraits of their relatives who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War or who worked in the rear.
