Deputy Permanent Representative of Great Britain to the United Nations Jonathan Allen said that London considers suspicious the fact that Damascus did not fulfill its obligations to destroy stockpiles of chemical weapons in Syria. "The Syrian regime did not provide a full report on its activities, did not finish its declaration, as the OPCW requires, each time presenting a lot of excuses," RIA Novosti quotes the words from Allen's press conference. The British Deputy Secretary of State believes that the actions of the Syrian government raise suspicions. "There is a reason why they do not want to finish the declaration and answer the questions - it's because they continue to cover the chemical weapons program," Allen is convinced. Earlier, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons announced that all chemicals declared by the Syrian government were exported from the territory of the country in 2014 and destroyed. However, the OPCW report noted that the experts of the organization had a number of questions.

The OPCW has already submitted to the UN Security Council a report in which it was noted that the last two chemical weapons production facilities in Syria from the list declared in 2013 could be destroyed in the coming months. Earlier, the organization tested the destruction of 25 of the 27 deadly weapons production facilities. Charges Damascus that he allegedly hides from the international experts his chemical weapons, broke out with a new force after the so-called hemataka in the Duma, which happened on April 7. Russia stated that the attack was staged, and chemical weapons were not used.
