The ban on cooperation with individual Russian companies may lead to the fact that NASA will have problems with the possibility of commercial delivery of American cargo to the International Space Station (ISS). The matter is that the first stage of the Antares 230 booster rocket, which is currently used by Orbital ATK to deliver American cargoes into space, includes Russian liquid-propellant RD-181.
This is reported by RT with reference to the report of the Office of the Inspector General of NASA. It is specified that if the amendment to the law on sanctions, which allows to buy Russian-made engines only until 2020, will not be extended, then the possibility of using Antares 230 launch vehicles will be in jeopardy. And the company Orbital ATK will not be able to deliver goods to space. The amendment authorizing the US to buy Russian engines before 2020 was adopted in June 2017 to comply with US interests in space exploration.
