The way to avenge Russia for alleged interference in the presidential elections in the US was found by the American Republican Senator John McCain. As a punishment, he chose a mirror measure and called on America to respond with a cyberattack. In his view, the sanctions that Washington has taken are not enough for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his friends to "regret their attack on one of the pillars of American democracy - free and fair elections," he wrote in his book "The Inextinguishable Wave," according to the Newspaper Defense News. "The United States needs to use its own weapons against the Kremlin," the senator.
In his book, McCain also criticizes US President Donald Trump, who, in his opinion, must take more stringent measures against the Kremlin. However, he does not do this, because "Russia has some kind of compromising evidence on him". Trump was not the first to be criticized by McCain for too soft, in his opinion, the policy towards Russia. The American side repeatedly accused Russia of interfering in the American presidential campaign. Moscow, in turn, has consistently refuted all charges.
