US President Donald Trump wanted to launch missiles at Russian and Iranian facilities in Syria, but he was stopped in time. Against such an unceremonious attack was made by the head of the Pentagon, James Mattis. He presented the White House with three versions of the strike. According to Mattis's first plan, the missiles could be released on sites related to chemical weapons. In another tactic, the blow must be struck at the centers of the military command and research facilities.

Also, a variant of an attack of Russian air defense was supposed to undermine the military potential of the Syrian regime, the Wall Street Journal. However, this was not enough for Trump, and he wanted to launch missiles at Russian facilities, but Mattis persuaded him and the politician agreed to a "hybrid plan". The head of the Pentagon thereby prevented the outbreak of World War III. The United States, Britain and France attacked Syrian government facilities on April 14, allegedly used to produce chemical weapons. They fired more than 100 missiles, but 71 shot down anti-aircraft missiles.
