From time immemorial, foreigners treated Russia as an enemy, and this attitude continues to this day as a vestige of the past. Nevertheless, in the West there are certain disagreements in this matter, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov. "It is impossible to talk about a prosperous and developing Europe without Russia's participation in all European processes, that Russia's opinion needs to be taken into account," Peskov said in an interview with RT, stressing that Russia is part of the same Europe. According to him, this idea is understood by many Europeans, therefore it is very reckless to cry out that abroad to Russia are rather bad than good. The problem of "evil attitude" really is, but in parallel with the screams of ill-wishers about evil Russia are also distributed in different parts of the world and "sober" voices. Despite the growing tension in relations with the West, there is no talk of an arms race, the presidential press secretary said.. Russia is not going to compete with the whole world in the field of weapons, and even, on the contrary, plans to slow down the pace.

It is planned that the expenditures on the "defense industry" will decrease, since for Vladimir Putin the priority in the next presidential term will be the solution of internal problems, primarily economic. "He has a concrete development plan. He understands what tasks are paramount, what are secondary and so on, "said Peskov. To solve the tasks, the head of state will need the help of Russian diplomacy, which will create "comfortable conditions".

This is exactly what the re-elected president sees as the main goal of foreign policy for the next six years.
